Farm Redevelopment
Proposed redevelopment of a Farm to include educational and recreational activities
The purposed of the redevelopment is to add activities that would attract the local community, schools and long distance visitors to the farm so that they can learn about the animals in the farm and experience the life on a farm. This would strengthen the presence of the farm in the area and provide alternative source of income that can sustain the farm.
The redevelopment includes upgrading of the roads whiling the area; the provision of a big parking space and a small train to transport the visitors within the plot; the creation of observation platforms along the creek; open air event space; petting farm; polytunnel field; dog park; small cabins for overnight visitor stay; a new learning centre providing seminar to the visiting schools; a new barn to shelter the farm animals and a bistro and shop building.
Any existing buildings that could be maintained and reused have been integrated to the proposal, while new timber fencing and timber-cladded cabins are proposed to be added to the plot, along with a timber cladded extension to the existing barn, which hosts the shops and the bistro.
Our aim is to maintain the rural elements of the farm and respect its existing activities, while upgrading its infrastructure and improving its facilities to become an educational and recreational centre of rural life in the area.
